Elephants

What’s an Elephant Daddy?

“Daddy what’s an Elephant?”
Asked a young boy to his Dad.
“Are they things from olden days?
And were they good or bad?”

“Don’t be a dumbo Barron”
Said his dad “We saved them all!
By shooting them, and stuffing them,
Look, they’re mounted on the wall!”

Big Game hunting – or as the elephants call it “dodge the bullet”
(Aka Elephant in the Oval Office)

There is an Elephant in the room,
A great truth that will always loom,
And you have to decide,
Do you run? Do you hide?
From the Elephant in the room.

It’s not the Elephantine GOP,
From which you cannot flee,
But it has come into vogue,
To be chased by a rogue,
With a grey and wrinkly knee.

Raptured by nature, completely in awe
Your kids told you “Dad just change the gun law
Please make it self serving
We’re entitled, deserving
C’mon Jumbo – quick on the draw”

Need I give you a further clue?
On the mammoth who is angry with you,
Metaphorically Mueller?
No, the answer’s far cooler…
A bull elephant in musth … from the zoo

Elephant Hunt

It is hard to hunt an Elephant
They are so very rare
It’s less easy than you may think
Because they aren’t everywhere.

And to shoot something so large,
Takes tremendous skill,
You get up close, befriend (pretend)
Then blast it for the thrill.

And then you will have your Trophy,
You can stick it on your wall,
Then thank your Daddy for the law change,
That will let you kill them all.
