Crass Putin

Crass Putin and His Venal Apologists (aka Horrible History)

Apologists of crass Putin
Are talking out – their TASS
Which they give to him freely
To grant him a free pass

Spreading disinformation
Spewing out his lies
Their rectal filth comes gushing
Putin’s bleeding-heart cries

Please spare us the lame excuses
For his disgusting murderous ways
Patronising hysterical rants
And histrionic historic praise

Invoking age old imperial
Rights, that should be gone
While they bend before Putin
To suckle and to fawn

While tanks are stopped by citizens
As more than half a million flee
In terror from a war
Not knowing when they’ll see

Their loved ones or homes again
With farewells at the station
Praying for the fate
Of their brave embattled nation

A column forty miles in length
Now rolls towards Kyiv
Sent there by a tyrant
Whose gift is to deceive

Even his own soldiers
His lying never ceases
By what right does he do this?
Does he not know what peace is?

And whenceforth comes the paranoia
Of this pathetic narcissist
Why does he opt for tyranny
Why can’t he coexist

And for those who blame the West
Looking for excuses
Through blatant propaganda
Of Putin whose abuses

In just three or so days
Match those of many years
Committed on both sides
In a conflict made from fears

And flames fanned by crass Putin
Who sent Little green men
To capture Crimea
Though he denied it then

Then stirred the Donbas region
With incursions in the night
Always on manoeuvres
So as to seal the plight

Entrenching into warfare
A situation grim
While blaming Ukrainians
For loss of life and limb

Now it’s fair to say it’s complex
With atrocities on both sides
But it’s just crass Putin’s lie
To call Ukraine’s moves genocide

And yes, as for diplomacy
We need not pretend
The West is always perfect
But when will this all end?

This false equivalence
Between policy and invasion
For Putin’s only real concern
Is that of Russians’ dissuasion

From crass Putin’s fierce desire
To have largest ruby star
Mounted high on the Kremlin
To honour him, the greatest Tsar
